Kyle Odum

• Responsible for administrative functions and personnel functions in support of recruits in the Illinois Army National Guard Recruit Sustainment Program (RSP).

• Preparing recruits for Initial Entry Training (IET).

• Interview recruits on administrative, medical, educational, and other topics as needed.

• Monitor recruits for potential retention issues and make every effort to assist in mitigating those issues or process them for separation.

• Assist in the management of IET ship dates within prescribed timeframes to ensure maximum training seat utilization.

• Provide qualitative screening to ensure recruits are administratively correct.

• Communicate with the Initial Active Duty Training (IADT) Manager, Military Entrance Processing Station (MEPS) Guidance Counselors, and United States Army Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) Liaisons regarding IADT
Recruit issues.

• Provide quality control for all documentation in the recruit’s shipper packet.

• Maintain employment eligibility training/certification requirements.

• Monitor Soldiers status during IET

• Balance competing priorities in a dynamic environment, ensuring timely completion of tasks while maintaining high standards for quality.
  

• Responsible for the research, preparation, and dissemination of news releases, articles, wed-based material and photographs on Army personnel and activities.

• Gathers information for military news programs and publications within the unit and around the Army.

• Develops ideas for news articles; arrange and conduct interviews.

• Collects information for commercial media use.

• Writes news releases, feature articles and editorials.

• Conducts media training for non public affairs personnel and works as an escort or liaison to civilian media.
